Ballet Class
in-person and online
A classical ballet is a class for those who want to dive deeper into ballet training. During the class we explore classical barre exercises and bring them further: to the center! Which means we won’t hold on to a barre or a chair:) Ballet training helps to improve posture, flexibility and coordination, but don’t hesitate to start ballet only because you think you are not flexible. Come to the class to improve it. Most of the exercises are a series of movements that involve training of muscle strength. If you’ve never done ballet - don’t worry, we got you covered. We created an online course for absolute beginners and have workshops as well.
We offer Absolute Beginner classes for adults who never done ballet before and Intermediate classes for those adults who have some ballet background.
What to wear
Wear clothes that hug your body but also that you're comfortable in. For example, leggings and a plain t-shirt, yoga pants and a tank top. The most important thing is that the teacher can see your lines, so anything you wear should be form fitting. For your first few classes you will be fine wearing just socks, so your foot can easily brush the floor. Shoes are important, however. Once you realize ballet is your thing, get well fitting slippers and you'll be on your way.
For online ballet classes we recommend positioning your camera the way so all your body is visible. Instead of the barre you can use a chair or a kitchen counter.
We all know that stretching is important, but the correct way to perform those stretches is not typically taught in today’s fitness classes. In Friday 5:00pm late afternoon Stretch, professional ballet dancer/instructor, Katerina Lubek’s emphasis is on precision. Her method is based on years of classical ballet and gymnastics training, and integrates a series of unique Pilates and gymnastic stretches with physical therapy stretches that professional dancers employ every day. Set in a beautiful, serene setting -- at the Margaret Pace Park water’s edge -- Katerina’s stretch class begins with a 15 minute warm-up that includes a variation of abs, arms and glute exercises. (Prepare to sweat! Even with the cool Biscayne Bay breezes!) Following the warm up, Katerina’s masterly designed stretch technique offers students at every level of fitness:
-The ability to develop a toned, strong, long and lean dancer’s body
- Improved whole body flexibility and agility
- Improved posture and body alignment
- Lower back pain relief
- Enhanced endurance and overall body performance
- Superior post work-out recovery
- Eventual preparation of the body for splits
What to wear
Wear comfortable, form fitting exercise clothes that allow the instructor to see your lines and allow for corrections. For example: stretchy leggings, yoga pants or shorts, with a workout tank or t-shirt. You may be barefoot, or wear socks depending on your preferences, though some exercises involve foot and floor friction, so socks help to slide your foot. Bring yoga mats and/or beach towels, though a limited number of these will be provided.
Barre class is a workout technique inspired by elements of ballet, yoga, and Pilates. It focuses on low-impact, high-intensity movements designed to strengthen your body in ways that few other workouts can. Our Ballet Barre class includes more ballet elements than a regular barre class, focusing more on the muscles that are engaged during ballet class, so these workouts help you with your dancing and your DANCER body.
What to wear
Wear pants, leggings or capris that you are comfortable in and workout tank or T-shirt. You will also want to wear grip socks to retain your body's heat as well as prevent your feet from sliding (you'll thank us later).
We come to you! Our personal trainers develop safe and effective exercise programs for people looking to achieve and maintain lean, strong and flexible body. With all our programs we alway focus on proper posture and body alignment as it is the keys not only for beautiful and confident appearance, but also for our health. Based on a dance and physical therapy background we use similar methodology in personal training and recovery after plastic sergeries training.
